Hi, I’m Ginka
Founder and Clinical Director of Nova Psychotherapy Services. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), PMH-C, and EMDRIA Certified Therapist passionate about creating a space where people can feel genuinely seen, supported, and understood through the many layers of being human.
My work is deeply rooted in helping individuals navigate trauma, anxiety, life transitions, women’s issues, perinatal mental health, relational challenges, identity exploration, and the quiet emotional burden of always needing to be strong, capable, or being everything for everyone else. I believe healing is not about “fixing” who you are but about understanding your story with compassion and reconnecting with the parts of yourself that may have been buried beneath survival, expectations, or pain.
Before opening Nova, I served as one of the primary mental health providers at Luke Air Force Base, where I worked closely with military members and families navigating PTSD, MST, anxiety, depression, burnout, and major life transitions. My background also includes supporting hospice and cancer patients, first responders, and individuals processing complex trauma experiences across various stages of life.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Ericksonian Hypnosis, Mindfulness, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through EMDRIA. I am also Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C), with a special passion for supporting women through infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, loss, motherhood identity shifts, and the often-unspoken emotional experiences surrounding womanhood and caregiving.
Beyond clinical work, I am an advocate, educator, and lifelong believer in being your own unique self and in the power of authentic human connection.
I had the honor of speaking at the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Annual Conference (2025) on The Role of the Perinatal Social Worker, and I remain deeply committed to helping create conversations around healing that feel real, relational, and free of judgment.
At Nova, my hope is that therapy feels less like a clinical checklist and more like a meaningful space to unbecome the versions of yourself built from survival and reconnect with the versions of yourself buried underneath it all.
I am glad you are here!
